Along the way, Factor bought the property next door and his residence was expanded to include a 2,700-square-foot guest home.
Along with landscape architect Victoria Pakshong of [place] picture collaborative, (fer) studio designed a strategy for the enlarged house's natural upslope. A railroad-tie path traverses the whole width of the property, and the enlarged entryway/ driveway is made from concrete pavers and permeable Grasscrete. As time passes, though, Sari let another vision for her yard take shape, one that was inspired by the book Last Child in the Woods and its notion that unstructured outdoor play is fantastic for kids' development.
