On the way, Factor purchased the property next door and his residence was enlarged to include a 2,700-square-foot guest home.

Together with landscape architect Victoria Pakshong of [place] picture collaborative, (fer) studio made a plan for its enlarged house's natural upslope. A railroad-tie path traverses the entire width of the property, and the enlarged entryway/ driveway is made from concrete pavers and permeable Grasscrete. The pool and outside action zones are built with an emphasis on the horizontal lines of their property, maintaining a very low profile so that nothing beats that amazing view.

As time passes, however, Sari let another vision for her lawn take form, one that was inspired by the book Last Child in the Woods and its notion that unstructured outdoor play is fantastic for children' development.
