"Let a shrub or tree grow to the ground and trim back the undergrowth. Or weave willow wisps or green cuttings from an acacia or a grapevine."Gore loves tree trunks for children's outdoor spaces, both since they're a natural repurposed material and since"they could be swiped endlessly," she says. From the front lawn, the Lehrer children use them as oversize steppingstones.
