As time passes, however, Sari let another vision for her lawn take shape, one which was inspired by the book Last Child in the Woods and its own notion that unstructured outdoor play is fantastic for children' development. Gore loves tree trunks for children's outdoor spaces, both because they are a natural repurposed material and because"they can be rearranged endlessly," she states. From the front yard, the Lehrer children use them as oversized steppingstones.
